It wasn’t hard to convince me to join in on an eight week media fitness challenge. I work out everyday and enjoy being active, so why not? And all of this to help the YMCA with awareness and funding, as well as anyone that needs a little motivation to get moving. What could be better??
Well when I walked into the YMCA’s basketball court on Monday morning, aka “Day One,” I wasn’t expecting what I saw. It wasn’t that it was terribly hard, but it certainly made you think and work. Stepping, jumping, running and various exercises were all waiting for me and Laurie Monteforte of WBRE. I did the obstacle course and finished without any penalties with a time of three minutes, 24 seconds. I was cheered on by the YMCA’s teen club and a few trainers. My fellow YFit Media Challenge Adventure reporter finished with a time of three minutes, nine seconds.
My next step is to meet with my trainer, Donna, on Wednesday afternoon for measurements and my first training session. I also have to start a diet log in which I write down everything I eat. Sounds easy enough.
I can’t wait to see what my body fat measurement is. Well, maybe I can wait.
