The best $3.95 ever spent

When I bought my plants in spring I selected a small (no tiny) butterfly bush in a tiny pot for $3.95. The sales clerk at the garden center assured me it was the same as the big ones for $16.95butterfly2 and higher. It didn’t look like it, but it was.

Now, I really didn’t expect it to look like a butterfly bush, but it does. And true to its name, the butterflies love it.

The other day I was sitting on the deck while I was working. The butterflies were coming fast and furious through like planes landing at LaGuardia. Yeah, it was difficult to keep my concentration on my work.

I walked past an established bush in someone’s yard today and the stems were thick and woody. These aren’t at that point, but they are blooming and looking good.

Next year, I’m going to buy more small bushes. They really are a bargain if you don’t mind the wait.
