Organizers of Pike County Hands of Hope have been looking through a stack of contact sheets that were filled out by wannabe volunteers at last week’s public meeting. The newly forming non-profit agency will respond to the needs of homeless families and individuals in Pike County.
Eventually, the group would like to provide a homeless shelter, something Pike currently lacks.
The group has split into committees: community support, spiritual development, fundraising, real estate, public relations, and hands on.
Committee leaders are reviewing the interests meeting attendees noted in a questionnaire, and will soon contact those potential volunteers who signed up.
If you didn’t attend the meeting and want to get involved, contact them at info@pikehandsofhope.org and let them know how you would like to help.
