Marylou Corbett with the plaque from Delaware Township supervisors
If you see Marylou Corbett of Delaware Township, congratulate/thank her on 30 years of service to the Delaware Township Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
Supervisors gave her a plaque during a township meeting this week to thank her for her dedication to the Corps.
A plaque is nice. Money is better.
The township agreed to make a donation to the Ambulance Corps a few months ago, but first, supervisors asked to look at its financial situation.
Delaware Supervisor Tom Ryan has said township officials may choose to examine the financial health of any group before handing over public money.
Township auditors will look through the non-profit’s books, but auditors say the Corps has been slow to hand over all the financial information requested.
Supervisors did not ask for the same financial disclosure in January when giving $5000 to Safe Haven of Pike County, the local
domestic violence and sexual assault responders.
