Time lapse video of fireworks shoppers in Matamoras

Most days there are no cars in the parking lot at Phantom Fireworks in Matamoras, so how does this store, which cannot legally sell
fireworks to Pennsylvania customers, stay in business?

The majority of its annual sales are made in the 10 days leading up to the Fourth of July.

For proof, check out this time lapse video produced last year in Matamoras by photojournalist Keith Stevenson.

Last year, I spoke with William Weimer, vice president of B.J. Alan Company, the distributor of Phantom and Wolf Pack Fireworks, for insight on the highly regulated business of pyrotechnic celebration, and learned that life as a professional buyer of fireworks has perks.

Buyers travel to a factory in China and spend nights watching sample fireworks being shot off.
