Park.
July 14, 2-4 p.m. Introduction to canoe. Beginners are encouraged to spend a relaxing afternoon on the lake, but dress appropriately, you may get wet.
July 15, 1-3 p.m. explore the lake with nets. Collect fish, macroinvertebrates, amphibians and anything else found for a close up look in buckets. Wear boots, this will be wet and muddy.
July 22, 10-11 a.m. Wildflower walk. Bring a camera for a flower hunt walk in the woods.
August 11, 10-11 a.m. Nature hike around the lake. Look for reptiles, amphibians, mammals and any other critters on the move. Learn about the special adaptations that animals use to survive.
August 12, 10-11 a.m. Edibles walk. It is a hike focused on the the many plants that can be eaten.
August 25 10-11 a.m. free fishing program. Learn the basics of fishing and then try your luck on the lake. The park provides all the equipment and no license is needed.
August 26, 1-3 p.m. boating safety. Spend an afternoon on the lake and learn basic paddling strokes, water safety and canoe over canoe rescue.
