New history at the Columns Museum in Milford

At the Columns Museum in Milford,  Pike County Historical Society’s Interns have created a new exhibit depicting a WWII timeline through the use of archival newspapers and the often hard hitting headlines the front pages relayed.

College students Grace D’Agostino and Christopher Walsh have spent a good part of their summer working on the project with Museum Director Lori Strelecki.

The exhibit will open officially on Friday August 11. Admission is free but donations are always welcome.

On the same day, newly elected President Kelle Hankins and the rest of  the society’s officers our officers will be introduced. They will dedicate a newly acquired display piece: a section of a beam from the World Trade Centers’ Twin Towers.

It was donated by museum supporter Fred Merusi.

The Columns Museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from 1-4 p.m. in July and August. Call  570-296-8126 for more information.
