Local reality television junkies will finally get a glimpse of Pike County next Monday when the Milford episode of Hotel Hell airs on FOX Television at 8 p.m.
Hotel Hell’s hot headed host Gordon Ramsay and his crew filmed the episode, featuring the River Rock Inn, in January. Owner Ken Pisciotta and his staff have been barred from talking about the filming experience until after the show runs. It has been a long wait.
The series has uncovered some embarrassing conditions in the hotels featured so far. One had pigs slopping in the basement. Many hotels had owners with egos bigger than a king sized bed.
A preview of the Milford episode shows cockroaches and filthy bedding at the River Rock Inn. But the show usually has a happy ending after Ramsay visits and saves the day.
The menu at the River Rock dining room changed after Ramsay visited. The new menu has slightly lower prices and some Pennsylvania-inspired choices, including red deer pie as an entrée and for dessert, shoe fly pie.
Less delcious: so far, Ramsay has had a naked bathing scene, complete with strategically placed camera blurring, in every episode. He often grumbles about the lousy hotel condition as he streaks to a much needed hot bubble bath.
I’m betting viewers will be “treated” to another bathing flash scene in the Milford episode.
