Bacon wrapped quail legs
It will be a dining adventure at the Pocono Environmental Education Center game dinner Saturday, Nov. 17.
The menu will include bear lasagna, bull and bear chili, rabbit pot pie, venison sausage and rice, and bacon wrapped quail legs.
Vegetarian meals will be offered for those who wish to support the PEEC fundraiser in a meatless way.
This is the third year the game dinner is being offered.
Last year the dinner was limited to 100 diners and tickets sold out. This year 125 tickets are available, but already 70 are sold, Jeff Rosalsky CQ PEEC executive director said.
“We’re not going out and hunting wild game,” Rosalsky said. “We’re buying rabbit from a farm in Honesdale. The venison is coming from a from farm in western Pennsylvania and someone is donating the bear dishes.”
The venison sausage will be made by Prime Time Meats in Milford.
Bear is new to the menu this year.
Dinner will be cooked by Wendy Gannon who runs the PEEC dining hall. It was her idea to assemble the many individual rabbit pot pies.
“She is an amazing chef,” Rosalsky said.
Tickets are $25 each or $40 for couples.
