|Hiking options abound in Pike County, and the granddaddy of all hikes, the Appalachian Trail, is close enough to sample on any day.Pike County hikers wishing to get on the Appalachian Trail can go either to Delaware Water Gap in Pennsylvania or to High Point State Park headquarters in New Jersey , on N.J. Route 23, some 7 miles south of Port Jervis, N.Y.|
Appalachian Trail Conservancy has called on the public to participate in its video contest, “I am the Appalachian Trail.”
The conservancy is accepting video shorts, no longer than 3 minutes, which answer the question: How are you a part of the Appalachian Trail?
Prizes will be award prizes for the top three videos.
The grand prize winner will have their video screened at the 2014 membership drive, receive a conservancy hammock, be featured in A.T. Journeys magazine of the and be highlighted on the conservancy’s social media pages.
