Walter Payton tribute video is a must-see

I took seven minutes out of my day (I’m off from work, though) to view a video about one of the great running backs of all time — Walter Payton.

But if you’re at work, watch it anyway. Your boss surely remembers Payton and would watch it over your shoulder without punishing you the way Payton did defenders.

Payton played for the Chicago Bears from 1975 to 1987, amassing 16,726 yards and 110 touchdowns on 3,838 carries. He also caught 492 passes for 4,538 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Please take the time out of your work day and watch a seven-minute tribute to Payton, who died 10 years ago this past Sunday, Nov. 1.

I’m 25, born in January 1984, so I was 3 years old when Walter Payton retired. For those young guys like me who have heard his name and just seen highlights, it’s imperative you watch it. For those who want to turn back the clock and remember a great one, it’s a must-see.

Payton ran with power, speed, toughness, agility, every feature you wanted in a running back, he had it. Most importantly, he was a great human being, as everyone loved him — and they still do.
