Not much loss this week, but overall? Nancy is still on track.

A good cry can help sometimes.

A good cry can help sometimes.

I was dreading this week’s weigh-in. I cried when the scale read two-tenths of a pound (lost). Why?

Was it because the other contestants lost more than me? Was it the fear of what friends and family will say? Was it because Nicole and I are the feature story this week, and I am worried about what the readers will think? Or was it the realization that I have reached my plateau and from here in it is going to take even more hard work!

I had a feeling (or should I say I knew) I would not be doing “the happy dance” this week. We did not get to Elevations on Sunday, nor did we go all week for our evening stroll on the treadmill and our work out in the pool. In the morning sessions this week, I wasn’t pushing myself as hard because I was fighting with a sinus infection and upper respiratory infection.

I had my good hard cry in the locker room at Elevations. I got my much needed hugs from Nicole, Jen, Janet and Rob.

I came home and looked at my food diary to see what I did different this week. I realized that I was drinking a lot of grapefruit juice (over a gallon) this past week, while lacking in the consumption of water.

So now that I know what I need to do this week, I will proudly boast that as of today, I have lost a total of 17.4 pounds in the first three weeks of the contest.
