not again
I just got over my apprehension of seeing “Live Free
Or Die Hard” for the grave fear it would ruin one of my favorite movie
franchises.
Now, I’m going through it all over again.
I don’t want the Simpson name besmirched. I don’t
want one of the greatest shows in television history vilified for a
crappy showing in a full-length movie.
I [...]

catching up
I missed a couple days, so let’s try and catch up:
Drew Carey is the new host of “The Price is Right” and I’m not sure what to think about that, exactly. Don’t
get me wrong, I’m a huge Drew fan from his stand-up days and his first
regular gig on a little-known show called “The Good Life.” [...]

Emmy this!
I’ve been mad before.
When Joe Carter hit the home run that ended the ‘93 World Series.

would be. The trailer, clips from the season premiere that were used as
interviews, and a synopsis of the movie. That’s it. It’s not
interesting, not [...]

summer winners, losers
I love July 4. One of the best holidays on the calendar.
But I also hate it, because it means summer is about half over. Boo.
As long as we’re at the halfway point, though, it’s time for a summer pop culture report to this point:
WINNER: Spider-Man 3. For anyone who doubted the franchise based on reviews, [...]

more than meets the competition
Get ready for a shocker:
“Transformers” won this weekend at the box office.
Not exactly big news. But take a look inside the numbers:
At $152.5 million, it took in more money in one week than any other
movie ever, and made $27.5 million July 3 (a record for a Tuesday) and
then $29.1 million on Wednesday (a July 4 [...]
