making a porno, too much dark knight and more
Some weekend catch-up:
This is the best advice I’ve seen on the Justice League movie — let it die. You won’t get a decent story, you won’t get the stars, and even if you do, how happy would anyone be watching Christian Bale play second fiddle to Brandon Routh?
I’m as big a Kevin Smith as there is, and I know this movie is getting good buzz, but remember the last time Smith left the comforts of the View Askew universe? Jersey Girl anyone?
Is the Dark Knight getting too popular? There comes a time, I think, when something gets so much attention that it becomes grating. Dark Knight is on the cusp of that, I think. I know a number of people who have seen it multiple times, but once was enough for me, thanks. There’s no getting around what a behemoth at the box office it is though.
(In best Chris Farley voice) Remember, back in 1992, when Lollapalooza was the best thing to happen to summer since sun? Remember that? ‘Member? Not no more. With everyone copying off Perry Farrell with all these festivals, Lollapalooza was turned into a three-day, one-stop show in 2005. From someone who grew up with Lollapalooza, that just seems sad. I was looking back at all the lineups today, and I’m going with 1994 as the best one.
Our PopRox hearts go out to Christina Applegate. Geez, what a rough year. At a time when she should be celebrating her hit TV show, in a matter of a month her boyfriend dies and now she’s got an early stage of breast cancer. She’ll always be Kelly Bundy around these parts, but the poor girl could use a run of good luck.
Haven’t heard any reports yet about how the Breaking Dawn party went out at Borders the other night. But it looks like the book is a crazy success.
