Before I write too many posts I’d like to give y’all a little insight as to how and why this blog is here. Until a week or two ago when the opportunity to do this blog was offered to by the Pocono Record I hadn’t been on a blog. I learned quickly everybody has a reason for doing a blog, here’s my reason:
The purpose of this blog is to call attention to the individuals, the history, the running and multisport events, and the organizations and the businesses that support our running and multisport community. If you’re just getting started or an advanced athlete with years of experience I hope to present the people and places, the opportunities that may help you with your journey to a lifetime of fitness.
There is a tremendous wealth of resources here in our community to help you get started or continue along on your journey to fitness and better health. If you need info I will be happy to help everyone I can find the resources available. Let me know how I can help. It’s my intent to introduce to all of the marvelous folks in our community through this blog!
Last and most importantly, the thanks for this blog being created must go to a dear man, a dear friend Howard “Howie” Frank a reporter and writer for the Pocono Record. Howie has an extensive background in running having run 12 New York Marathons! HOWIE MADE THIS BLOG HAPPEN!! Howie made his bosses at the Record aware of some of the writing I had done and I will always be thankful for his encouragement, his kindness and trust he showed in me without which I’d never have had the nerve to give this a try! Thank you Howie, I love you dearly!!!
