stuff ’round the mill
“Racing teaches us to challenge ourselves. It teaches us to push beyond where we thought we could go. It helps us to find out what we are made of. This is what we do. This is what it’s all about.”
-PattiSue Plumer

Sunday I ran through the burgs I couldn’t help but notice what appeared to be an unusual high level of debris on the streets. Soon I came upon empty Gatorade bottles, Power bar wrappers and empty gel packet’s on the side walk in Stroudsburg. C’mon folks, we can’t let this happen on our watch. As responsible stewards we gotta treat the streets and trails we run on EVERYWHERE with the highest degree respect we possibly can. PLEASE DON’T LITTER!!

The fear of acceptance is one of the biggest struggles for folks to get out and start running with a group of runners; many people are fearful of will I fit in? During my years of running, no matter where I’ve run I’ve found when you approach a group of runners you are never really alone; you are only a smile and a hand shake away from making new friends. Runners welcome runners no matter where, no matter what level of runner you may be. Runners are fully aware of the decision and determination for a beginner or someone with little experience required to take those first steps, and there always be a few folks around the Mill and the YMCA to encourage anyone! There are runners in these groups from their teens to their 80′s. So please consider this a sincere invitation to come out and join us whether it is at the Mill or the Y we welcome you!
