I HATE FAILURE! Though I do it frequently! : )

Its 24 days to Boston! THREE DAYS UNTIL IT’S TIME TO TAPER! Tapering is an art that I NEVER got right consistently. I would get it right for a marathon or 2 and then lose the recipe! While many will tell you training is 90% of marathon success and I agree, but I feel tapering is the other 90%! A good and proper taper can make up for a lot of training mistakes! Good training can make up for a lot of race day mistakes! I came to where I gave up on tapering and just kept a fairly normal training plan with 2 days of complete rest before the marathon or ultra.

VIRGINIA BEACH – Some of the SLATE BELT CREW went to Virginia Beach (Destination Marathon) and found themselves in mild wintry weather the despite southern direction. Lou Camilletti ran the full – 4:36, while Sherwood Altemose ran the half – 1:55! Did I miss anybody Lou?
