stuff ‘round the mill
There’s not a better feeling than when you have found that moment of balance and harmony when both running and life come together. Then you know why you run and that you couldn’t live without it. ~ Joan Benoit Samuelson

What she said!!! AMEN!!!

The operative word is “moment”. Achieving that harmony and balance Joan speaks of took me so long, so many miles, and then as I really came to love and appreciate the act of running, BAM…it was gone!

Today life is good, but not quite as easy as it was then! Then I felt invincible, every step was easy and light, no distance was unreasonable in my mind. Sun up to sun down, all I needed was a moment’s notice and I was ready to run! Every day I start with memories of what that balance and harmony was like. And every day I head out the door with the dream and the hope of regaining that feeling.

I was told yesterday, by a dear friend, a mile is a mile, and they all count. I thought to myself “well how come they take twice as long to run?”

Perhaps, Lord willin’, today will be the rebirth of that balance and harmony! I only know one thing for sure, it isn’t going to happen if I don’t get out my door and TRY! It won’t ever happen sitting and wishing!

Join me please, let’s run!!
