THE RUN FOR THE RED POCONO MARATHON, HALF MARATHON, AND 5K ROAD RACE 12 years of marathoning bliss!

Putting on a marathon requires a lot of heart and soul! Running a marathon requires a lot of heart and soul! It just doesn’t happen, success on both counts is never a sure thing! SUCCESS is a result of preparation, commitment, and courage!
Bob Wertz a VERY special man with determination and courage believed we could! He took the chore of putting this event on and making money for the Red Cross on his own back and through his determination and courage many others joined him and made the Pocono Marathon an event to be proud of! While the names of the “others” are written on my heart I don’t dare to start to write them because my feeble mind will surely over look some! Throughout the twelve years many have come and gone, some tremendous leaders have died, but as some leave others step up take on the chores

For many of us it is twelve years, twelve magnificent year’s filled with memories of our hard training, weary finishes, and an afterglow that fuels us until the following year!

There are many jobs that allow you to be part of this fund raising Red Cross Event. Working as a volunteer, running, or cheering!

THIS WEEKEND:
05/21 – RUN FOR THE RED MARATHON
FROM TOM – The POCONO AREA RUNNING CLUB needs volunteers for the first water stop of the Pocono Marathon on May 21. Over 900 runners pass the water stop in less than 10 minutes so we like to have 15 to 20 volunteers. It’s a fun (and social) way to spend the morning. You get a great view of the race, and you’re finished by 8:15 am.

If you would like to volunteer, or you have any questions, please call me at (570)872-6473 or email tburbage@ptd.net Its okay to just show up, but I’d like to have an approximate head count.
Thank you,
Tom Burbage
