The view from my porch.
Never wish that life was easier, wish that you were better. – Jim Rohn

It’s a bit chilly on my porch, but it is festive. I love this time of year for training. This kind of weather does make training a bit more of a challenge. We need to put on our thinking caps and make adjustments.

I saw on FB where Dolores Everett threw out a wonderful at home aerobic routine for her training group without the need of any equipment. I didn’t ask her permission to pass this along but since it was on FB I’m sure she isn’t going to punch me TOO hard for printing it here for your consumption: 5 burpees, 10 pushups, 15 squats, 20 triceps dips, 25 crunches, and 40 mountain climbers, repeat as many set as you can for 20 minutes.

Grammie and I bought ourselves a Peloton for Christmas and we presently have 4 people training on it. This is a FANTASTIC machine and program. It has yoga and weightlifting program included on what they refer to as “after the ride”. There is time and availability for more riders on it if you care to try it.

Presently due to an old back injury and a newer knee injuries (let’s ignore the old age part of me) I can’t run but I can peddle the daylights out of a bike! I will be running the RFR marathon this year, but VERY slowly. Could be a 2 day event! If not a week.

Maybe the biggest blessing for training this time of year is there’s not a whole lot else to do. Train and rest, rest and train! Make the most of it. Shrug off those winter blues, get out in the fresh air as often as possible, but when need be find an inside exercise program that keeps you fit, beautiful/handsome, and movin’ on!

GOOD LUCK EAGLES FANS! BE PROUD! And celebrate safely!
