Running is not about how far you go, but how far you’ve come. – Bart Yasso

Bill Carlton
Come good news. Bill came home from surgery Saturday evening. Three years ago he lost a kidney to cancer. Last week he lost a portion of his remaining kidney. His prognosis is good, his spirits are high! He told me on the phone that his lead to his first dnf. After the surgery a nurse walked with him for several laps around the hospital. The dnf came when the nurse had to call for the trail sweep with the wheel chair to take him back to his room.

Knowing he was going into surgery Bill trained his bee-hind off to be in as good shape as possible. He feels he’ll be running in 5 to 6 weeks. If memory serves me correctly Bill ran his 20th marathon in Steamtown 2 years ago after losing his first kidney. Bill has been getting his old bicycle in shape for some riding. Bill was a very good cyclist years ago before getting into running. Bill rode in 24 hour events in of all places Central Park NYC!

Bill’s service to his church community and our running community is a true blessing. Please keep him you your kindest thoughts and prayers!

Fred Cramer had a stress test that indicated some concern. He’s seeing a heart specialist to day. More when I know. Please keep him you your kindest thoughts and prayers!
