The view from my porch.
A lifetime of training for just ten seconds. – Jesse Owens

Bill Carlton is cancer free and on the mend from surgery! Bill attends to the work and details of our Run for the Red course. He is a leader and a tireless man who sees to it all is well and we are pampered and safe come race day. He is an almost daily volunteer at his church. He is his family’s keystone! I am proud and blessed because he is my friend! Please keep him in your kindest thoughts and prayers!

Ten seconds! It’s hard for me to get that. I want to run for hours, if not days. Ten seconds just isn’t enough. Running balls to the wall for ten seconds is HARD! I’ve done it! It just doesn’t satisfy my spirit.

In a ten second race one miss-step most likely will kill your run, your whole day. In a ten hour race you can fall in a hole and climb back out and regain your stride and salvage your day.

Don’t let this weather defeat you! Keep at your training! Keep up your fitness! Life always throws obstacles in our way. We gotta be tough, determined, and committed to finding our way through to reach and complete our goals! Take care of yourself and help encourage others on the path to fitness and competition! We can and will weather the storms!

Don’t forget the GOTR pancake breakfast!

Times a wasting, let’s get training!!!
