The view from my porch.

While sitting on my porch licking my wounds I heard a rumor of a new running club. I heard a local LONG time runner with tons of accomplishments was coaching a team of one of our local cross fitters, True Glory, for training and competition!

FROM JOELLE FAIR: (Joelle doesn’t compete “fair” she is a competitive tigress!)

Well it kind of just happened. Another coach at the gym (Jimmy Gardenia) asked if I would be interested in coaching an endurance class on Sundays with him. So we started in August. Well you know me, I started adding running slowly to the workouts which are hell (heaven Joelle, HEAVEN!) and last 60-90 minutes. The news of these workouts spread.

Crazy right? Cross Fitters slowly learning to like running?

Anyway, another coach said I should start a club within the box and I did. It’s been awesome. I give workouts based on ability groups and then the member’s team up to run together. I make myself available to run with them as well.

So then I looked at races for them to enter. Some did the Blazin’ 5k in Cherry Valley last month, the race today at PV, but the big one is River Ramble. The goal race they want is the half for Run for the Red!!
I hope to keep it fun so that they start to love running the way i do.

The most awesome thing is there are members who are achieving goals they never felt possible, but they trust the process and are working hard and great things are happening…

There aren’t many runners I admire more than Joelle! I wish her and her team continual progress and many splendid races!
