Cleaning it up
With the help and advice of Pocono Record Web guru John Misinco, my blogs will be much shorter and cleaner. I’ll also be linking articles here from Pocono Record writers and other writers around the world that I think you’d be interested in checking out if you haven’t already.
Record sports writer Mike Kuhns wrote an interesting article on the installation of turf on several of East Stroudsburg University’s fields. I’ll have something early next week on the new fieldturf and all-weather track being installed at Pleasant Valley. The turf will be the first artificial playing field at an area high school and should benefit countless folks.
I’ll have a story on former East Stroudsburg South soccer standout and current Temple University defender Cori Gallagher in Sunday’s Pocono Record. I talked to her yesterday and Temple coach David Jones this morning and came away very impressed with both. I wrote a story on Cori last year and it sounds like she’s become even more of a leader for another young Owls team.
I’ve traded some e-mails with Matt Hodson in the media relations department at Stanford to set up a time to talk to former Eastburg South standout Max Bergen and his linebacker coach Andy Buh. It will be interesting to see what Bergen, who redshirted last year, did to give himself an opportunity to see the field this season. Knowing Max, I’m sure he worked just as hard as he did in high school.
That’s all for now. Don’t want drown you with too much info. See, I told you I was going to start writing more blogs!
