It’s February… wedding planning is in full swing

This is the time of year when couples are really digging into their planning process.

Everyone’s different, so of course there are some brides with wedding organzational sofware programs,  large folders and checklists, and then there are those with a few scraps of paper.

But they have one thing in common: if they haven’t finished booking their vendors – now is the time to do it!

I am getting a lot of  calls and email now and my calendar is quite filled up already for spring, summer and fall – but I do still have openings as well. And that is true for other vendors as well.

Don’t choose soley based on price. The old addage ‘you get what you pay for’ certainly comes to mind. Sometimes the higher priced vendor is actually providing a lot more service, or quality service. You must compare apples to apples to know the value or what you are buying. And although we are all trying to be prudent in these tough economic times, your wedding photos are something that will last a lifetime. The words that are said at your ceremony set the tone for the day and should extress what this important commitment means to you, and the food should not dissapoint.  Think about what is most important to you and judge accordingly.

So – if you are a procrastinator, now is the time for action. Be sure to have your questions ready for your vendors – ask about their experience, references, take notes, and don’t sign a contract on the spot unless you feel very sure. It’s perfectly ok to say we’re gong to discuss it and get back to you.

But don’t wait too long…. every good vendor I know is getting booked up. I have had many inquires about 2010 weddings. So don’t wait.
