Destination Poconos

Sometimes it’s worth it to stop and state the obvious: the Poconos is a destination and of you live here, and are getting married, you are very fortunate. We have some of the best venues imaginable. There are many wonderful and unique places. We are truly a wedding destination.

Here I am officiating at Stroudsmoor.

It is so annoying to occasionally still hear derogatory references to heart-shaped bathtubs and stereotypes based on the hotels of 20 to 40 years ago. And while it is true there are still one or two places of that style, most of our hotels and resorts are upscale, elegant, and immaculate.

If you are looking for true elegance and great style – Skytop Lodge or The French Manor fit the bill. Mountain Springs Lake Resort is also incredibly beautiful and very private; I like that when you have a wedding there, you are the only wedding there. For something more down-to-earth but still majestic, The Shawnee Inn has so much to offer, especially being located on the Delaware River. I like that the ceremony can be held right by the river, and this elegant old hotel is kept up in top shape. It is a place with a rich history and lots to do. The very same can be said about Skytop, which dates back to the 1920’s and the stone building is most impressive!

Some other lovely venues I recommend include The Inn at Pocono Manor, The Stroudsmoor Country Inn, and The Meadowbrook Inn, all are also favorites of mine.

Yes, we’re pretty lucky here in the Poconos, in some ways we are a hidden jewel close to so much, yet still out here in the countryside with nature surrounding us.

Mountain Springs Lake is amazing!

Mountain Springs Lake is a still undiscovered jewel.
