12 Ideas for 2012

Planning a wedding this year? Here are 12 tips for 2012. I hope that even just one of these ideas will help you have a more wonderful wedding.

1. Have your ceremony and reception at the same location.

2. Have an outstanding backup plan for outdoor weddings, in case of rain.

3. Make your wedding ‘greener’ by considering recycling issues, reducing waste using local foods and flowers.

4. Choose unique music for your ceremony and reception, too.

Unique idea - the violinists lead the processional and recessional.

5. Involve family and friends throughout the process.

6. Seat older guests furthest from the music at the reception, but closer at ceremony.

7. Create a wedding program booklet that adds interesting information, rather than just outlining the ceremony.

8. Let your bridesmaids choose their dresses – they don’t even have to exactly match.

9. Don’t use an aisle runner on grass. For that matter, don’t wear spiked heels on grass.

10. Brides, make sure to break-in your shoes before the big day.

A cool approach to bridesmaids dresses.

11. Donate to a meaningful charity instead of buying little favors (let the guests know about it in a creative way).

A small note to let your guests know you made a charitable donation.

12. Skip the receiving line – but be sure to visit everyone at the reception.
