Where’s the observation car?
Whatever happened to watching the countryside roll by from a train’s observation car?
The relaxing pastime disappeared from the Poconos with passenger service, leaving only the workers to ride the rails.
This photograph was taken in 1977 of one of those trainmen – “who have seen it all” – as the train rumbled through East Stroudsburg, according to the photo’s original caption.
