Long past its heyday, the Sherman Theater of 1989 (above) had lost some of its original character and charm.
Today, the 1920s grandeur of the Sherman Theater at 524 Main St., Stroudsburg, has been reclaimed and the theater has a new place in the borough’s history.
By 1989, the trolley cars were long gone from in front the First Eastern Bank (left) at the corner of Seventh and Main streets.
The Best Western Pocono Inn (right) at 700 Main occupied the building of former Penn-Stroud.
The building still houses a hotel, but by a different name – Pocono Inne Town.
